We have great dreams for our growing business. Over the past few years since diengie's birth, we have been dreaming big about our future. Not only do we want to run a profitable business, but some day diengie will support a ministry. It is still hard to put it all into words since we don't know all the details, so this part of our page may evolve as time passes. Yet, we have the big picture in mind. . .
Our goals for diengie as a business:
*We will continue to design and produce top-quality, eco-friendly bags and accessories while continually striving to lessen our impact on the environment.
*We will grow our business with integrity based on Biblical values and God's leading in our lives—individually and as a team.
*We will be knowledgeable and wise entrepreneurs who will grow our business to be profitable enough to fund a ministry to single moms and their children.
*We will be located in a low-income area. This facility will house the entire diengie production and outreach programs. We already have our eye on a building--more on that to come in the months ahead!
Our dreams for diengie's ministry:
*We will employ mostly single moms who need to know they have value, worth and marketable skills.
*We will provide adequate training when necessary in order to provide employment for women who may otherwise be “under-qualified”.
*We will be practical in our approach when considering our employees barriers to maintaining their employment. (Ex: transportation, clothing, childcare, budgeting, groceries, home care instruction, personal care, etc.)
*We will provide onsite childcare for our employees and encourage lunches to be taken with their children at our onsite café.
*We will facilitate a kind and peaceful working environment in which employees feel both valued and valuable. Our facility will be one that is based on restoration--in all areas of life, especially spiritual.
*We will encourage community responsibility not only in our employees, but also in the neighborhood surrounding our headquarters.
